During the consultation, I will guide you through the process of creating your Last Will and Testament, Codicils, Trust Agreement, Amendments, Certification of Trust, Durable Power of Attorney, Healthcare Surrogate Designation, Living Will, and/or Deed(s), as well as provide instructions for funding a trust. The first step is the consultation. Upon contacting my office, I will address any general questions you may have. During this time, I will ask for your contact information to send you an estate planning questionnaire and an engagement letter. A consultation date and time will also be scheduled.
During the one-hour consultation, which may be over the phone or in person, I will review the questionnaire, answer questions you may have, ask questions, and will take notes that will assist me with customizing your estate plan to fit your particular wishes and desires.
The second step is the document review process. After the consultation, I will draft your estate plan. The draft estate plan will be sent to you for your careful review. You should contact me with any questions you have and/or requested modifications or changes.
The third step is the estate plan signing. After you carefully review the draft estate plan and make any necessary changes prior to the signing date, you are ready for the estate plan signing. You will need to contact my office to schedule the signing date and time. The signing will take place with you, me, and two witnesses. You should have a government-issued ID on you, such as a Florida driver's license. The signings may take up to approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
